As of 2008, I'm a half-time Family Practice physician/Medical Director at Family Care Centers in Orange County; the other half-time, I advise and consult on electronic medical record implementations and medical IT matters. As of 2011, I also chair the Family Medicine Department at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian, and participate in a number of committees devoted to practice innovation, silo busting, and proving by word and deed that focusing on "value" is as critical, if not more so, as "quality." My professional goals include getting as many physicians and medical providers up to speed on web-based technologies as possible. Sometimes that means "pushing tech," sometimes that means "pulling back"; tech and lifehacks are not always the answer to every problem. My professional and personal goal is to integrate health and wellness practices across all spheres of my life. If something is truly a lifehack, it should work across the personal, family, and professional levels. That means taking action, being responsible, reassessing periodically, and being "as simple as possible, but no simpler."
